Sarah is the founder and principal at Secular Strategies, a consulting firm empowering policymakers, lawmakers, and change-makers to be effective champions of secularism in the United States. Sarah's past and current clients at Secular Strategies include: the Center for Freethought Equality, Huffman for Congress, the Association of Secular Elected Officials, Jews for a Secular Democracy, SMART Recovery, the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers, Ex-Muslims of North America, Secular Coalition for America, and Rights and Religions Forum.
Sarah worked for the Secular Coalition for America from 2013 through 2019 in various roles, including director of grassroots and community programs and director of governmental affairs. In 2016, she facilitated the establishment of the first-ever Secular Caucus in the Texas Democratic Party and co-founded Secular Democrats of America in 2020, where she currently serves as its executive director.
Sarah proudly represents the secular community as a Co-Chair on the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) Interfaith Council. She has helped shepard the passage of two DNC resolutions: one in 2019 that expressly welcomes religiously unaffiliated voters into the party and recognizes their values and historic marginalization; and a second in 2020 that condemned white religious nationalism and its role in the January 6 insurrection.
Sarah identifies as culturally Jewish, an agnostic atheist, and a humanist.
