Remaya M. Campbell is a former evangelical and the Executive Director of Open Shadows, a nonprofit center for research, intelligence, and organizing against extremism and authoritarian rule, founded in July 2024. She is an intelligence professional with experience across the public, private, and nonprofit security sectors.
Remaya lives in Washington, D.C., but will always be from sunny Southern California. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and holds a Master’s degree in Peace & Conflict Studies from the University of Otago in New Zealand. She previously served through a mayoral appointment to the District of Columbia Homeland Security Commission.
